Wooly holds the things your family would otherwise have to remember. That is an unusually personal pile of information, so this page is written to be read rather than skimmed past.

The short version

What we store

The things you tell Wooly

Memories your family adds — schedules, allergies, the Wi-Fi password, what you're owed. Each one records who added it, when, and which room it belongs to. This is the product; we cannot deliver it without storing it.

Who is in your family

Names, the assistant each person connected, and each member's phone number if they use text messages. We ask for first names only. Nothing requires a last name.

Account and billing

The subscriber's email address, and a billing record held by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.

Technical logs

Error reports and basic request logs, kept for 30 days, used to fix things that break. We do not build advertising profiles from them.

Who can see what

Inside your family, visibility is decided entirely by which of the three rooms a memory sits in:

Outside your family: nobody. Each family's memory is stored in its own isolated container rather than a shared table, so there is no query anyone could write that returns two families at once.

What the AI assistants receive

When a family member asks their assistant something, Wooly returns only the memories that member is allowed to see, and only what is relevant to the question. The assistant's provider — OpenAI, Anthropic, or whoever it is — processes that content under their own terms in order to compose an answer. We do not hand your memory to them in bulk, and we do not give them standing access to it.

Wooly supplies your family's facts. The assistant does the talking. We do not claim any assistant's answer is correct.

Children

Children under 13 do not get Wooly accounts. Information about a young child — an allergy, a pickup time, a doctor's name — is stored as a household fact entered by a parent, through that parent's own connection. Teenagers aged 13 and over can hold a member seat when a parent invites them.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to privacy@woolyai.app and we will remove it and its data.

Text messages

Every family gets a phone number. Anyone who texts it has to opt in first, and replying STOP ends messages to that number immediately. Message content is stored the same way as anything else added to Wooly. Your mobile carrier can see that a message was sent, as with any text.

Taking it back

Two controls, both in Family → Your data, both working from the first day:

Cancelling a subscription does not delete anything. Deleting is a separate, deliberate action you take.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising them. The export and delete controls cover most of this directly. For anything else, write to privacy@woolyai.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Who else touches your data

We use a small number of vendors to run Wooly: a cloud platform for storage and compute, a payment processor for billing, a messaging provider for the family phone number, and AI model providers to read messy input and compose answers. Each gets only what it needs to do its job. None of them are permitted to use your family's memory for their own purposes, including training.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with your family's memory, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect — not by quietly updating a date at the top of a page.
